I love good food. I especially love really good food! It’s a home run if I can find it in Fairhope too! Sage Lebanese Cuisine & Cafe is just that- total Grand Slam! Located along Fairhope Ave. the quaint flower lined street in Fairhope, AL, literally in the heart of town. When you arrive, you are usually greeted by the owner, Maritza, who is sweet, spunky and accommodating. Sage is decorated so comfortably and makes you feel so welcomed and inspired to try something new.
To start with, I’d recommend ordering the Sage Lemonade or Lebanese Iced Tea to drink with the Meza Mixer appetizer. It’s top notch and a great way to sample Lebanese flavors. Our favorite hummus is the Sriracha hummus and the naan bread that they serve it with is so tender and loaded with flavor.
In terms of entree’s it’s hard to suggest one, so I’ll suggest that you take 3 friends and each order something different and share! My top 4 entrees (in no particular order):
- Lamb Chops
- NYC Chicken
- Chicken Schawarma
Each entree is served with yellow rice and a salad. I usually request the Sage sauce for my dressing. Jason loves to sip on their Turkish coffee after our meal and they even offer Turkish iced coffee if you are looking for a more refreshing option.
We love the location, service, atmosphere, but most of all we love that the food is all hand made, from scratch and cooked to order daily. They believe in and use real food which is super important to us. Even the french fries are hand cut daily. Because it’s all made daily, it’s prepped and ready and it takes very little time to get your food.
Sage recently obtained their liquor license and they have a full array of wines and craft beer options to choose from. Maritza makes a great sangria too! If you are visiting Fairhope or a local, you need to go check out Sage Lebanese Cuisine and Cafe! They also cater, so give them a call for your next event (251) 517-7536!
