My poor deprived child begged for a birthday party this year…for the past 2 years she has been galavanting around Disney World…deprived, right. She turned 6 and is pretty artistic so we brainstormed about something fun that we could do with a small group of girls, have it outside of our home, and be inside, since January is her birth month. We decided on a Paint N Parrot birthday party! It was so fun and so easy!
Paint N Parrot is located at 9 N. Church Street in Downtown Fairhope and is eclectic and whimsical; the perfect location to let the kids have some fun, get a little dirty, and not have to clean up before or after- SCORE! After scheduling and putting a $50 deposit down, I did very little! I showed up about 30 minutes early to set out the food and cupcakes. We had Danny’s Fried chicken strips, juice boxes, and cupcakes, and it was perfect for little ones.
Once all the kids arrived, they got to pick their unfinished piece of pottery- all located on a specific shelf- and then they got to pick their colors! The Paint N Parrot staff delivered paint to each child and gave them instructions on how to get started prior to painting. The kids then had plenty of time to paint and create the perfect piece of pottery. It was so fun to watch their little imaginations go and have fun with each other. As a Mom, it’s usually hard to visit with all the littles while hosting, but this environment allowed me to chat with each child. After they all finished their pottery, they each went up and put their thumb print on a Happy Birthday Plate for the Birthday Girl! All pottery was turned in and parents were able to pick up the following Monday! As a super busy Mom of 2, it was an ideal place to host a party with very little planning or prep work. The kids all had a blast, which is most important and very affordable!
Fairhope offers such unique and creative places to do something a little different. Paint N Parrot also hosts summer camps! For more information, feel free to locate them on Facebook or call 251.928.4161.
