I truly love the real estate profession and helping people reach their real estate goals in buying and selling property!
Jill's story is one of purpose, destiny and compassion for others. She developed a gracious mindset early on in her formative years, finding happiness in the simple joys of life. She thinks her youth was somewhat boring, yet I noticed a gradual evolution of firm resolve in an ever determined soul. Jill landed her first sales job at age 16, manning the register in a local gift shop, The Mole Hole, in Mobile, Alabama and became much more interested in providing for "the little things" in life, as opposed to her academic studies at Mary Montgomery High School.
After graduation, she accepted an administrative position at Joe Bullard, a popular car dealership in town. She would work there for nearly a decade before answering the call to pursue a career as a special education teacher. As a tender-hearted middle child and having struggled herself in school, Jill felt she had the patience and empathy for the demands of the classroom. At 26, she enrolled in the University of South Alabama, covering the cost of her undergraduate tuition and fees with her day job at Joe Bullard. Four diligent years later, Jill had accepted her first interim teaching assignment at Robert E. Lee in Saraland, before joining the faculty at Leinkauf Elementary School in Mobile.
Over the next 7 years, Jill would earn her masters degree by night, encourage her students to pursue their dreams by day and somehow find the time to supplement her income with part-time work at Joe Bullard. Her courtship with Steve began in 1999 and the couple married a few years later. Steve traveled a great deal for work, thus soon after welcoming their first daughter into the world, Jill decided to resign from teaching to focus on rigors of being a mom. Today, the couple is raising three beautiful young women and Steve finds that his professional time on the road has allowed him to keep his sanity in a estrogen charged home of women.
As the girls got older and more independent, Jill began to consider a career in realestate. She had always been attracted to the industry and felt confident that a career as a Realtor would afford her the opportunity to once again help others in need, without having to sacrifice quality time with her girls. Jill found that her clients gravitated toward her patient nature and her willingness to invest her time for the benefit of others. In return, she realized that: "Helping people self-discover their dream home purchase feels really good!" Jill also has a soft spot for homes in need of a little TLC and loves to help people see the potential in a home, whose character has been overshadowed by years of neglect.
When Jill is not playing real estate matchmaker or helping others realize the abandoned beauty of overlooked real estate, you will likely find her spending time with her family at her mother's house on Fish River. They love to go boating together and spend every seasonal opportunity on the water. Two of their daughters are passionate about soccer and their youngest is a little ballerina. Jill's "me time" is often spent exercising on the sidewalks of Downtown Fairhope. She is an avid runner and has completed several half marathons over the years. To this day, Jill still loves to teach and you can find her introducing young minds to Jesus during Sunday School at Fairhope United Methodist Church.
Jill loves the small town community atmosphere that is Fairhope, running into friends at the grocery store, local restaurants, and going for a run and having people blow the horn and wave as they pass. She loves being able to wake up on Saturday mornings and enjoy an impromptu day at the beach because of the close proximity to the Gulf.
