Life-long resident, who is passionate about life in Baldwin County!
Starr Shackelford was born in Mobile, Alabama, the only daughter of Lucky and Eula Kyser. Eula was desperate for a little girl, yet after giving birth to 3 boys her hope began to fade. On the day her prayers were answered, she found herself so overjoyed with the blessing that she referred to her baby girl as her "Lucky Star." They named her Lisa Starr Kyser but everyone would call her "Starr" and her radiant personality epitomizes the uniqueness of her name to this day.
Starr spent her early childhood in Orange Beach, eventually settling in small town Robertsdale. She attended Robertsdale High School, flourishing in her academic studies and as a talented member of the cheerleading squad. Her passion for style and her creative vision would earn her a scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi for Fashion Design. Yet, an opportunity to experience life in the "big city" after her freshman year would lead her to Dallas, before returning home to graduate with a degree in business from the University of South Alabama.
Starr excelled in the business world but a career in real estate had been on her mind since high school, so much so that she began the licensing process while still living in Dallas. However, she would stifle her desire to be a professional Realtor until she gained the maturity to conquer her fears of a commission only compensation industry in 2005. By this time she was a mother of twin boys and longed for a career that afforded her the ability to make a good living without having to sacrifice her family time. Starr executed her first sales contract after just two weeks in the business and her career has thrived ever since!
